Meet Kas

I am a Yoga Therapist and work with people to help them improve their overall health and wellbeing. From the Yoga Therapy viewpoint health does not merely mean the absence of disease, but an overall feeling of wellbeing at a physical, mental and spiritual level. Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, Yoga Therapy is the application of specific practices designed for the individual. All aspects of a person are accounted for within a session which involves holding space for the person to be seen and heard without any expectation to show up in any other way. A practice will be designed to suit them on the day, this will be revised overtime, and can be prescribed to continue with at home.

I teach weekly studio classes, purpose built workshops, and group led classes for organisations and specific groups.

I also teach childbirth education through the Hypnobirthing Australia program and private birth coaching. I was first drawn to this profession after my own positive birth experience. I soon realised not everyone has a positive experience of birth, and decided to learn how I could help others. I have been teaching this and pre and postnatal yoga for the last 10 years and continue to enjoy supporting families through this big life transition. Birth is a rich opportunity for self empowerment, fertile soil to connect with your Self, which is where it crosses over with the other work that I do.

Yoga has long been a part of my journey, keeping me strong since a back injury in my early 20’s. I have maintained a regular practice ever since, affording me over two decades of personal practice. Over this time, I have experienced the subtle shifts of the postures, breathing practices, relaxation, and meditation, on my way of ‘being’ in every-day life. This inspires me to bring these powerful teachings to others.

My yoga training started in 2008 with a 200-hour Ashtanga Teacher Training with Paul Dallaghan at Centred Yoga, Thailand. Later that year I took a 200-hour Pranayama (breathwork) Teacher Training with Shri O.P Tiwariji at the Kaivalyadhama Institute, India. I continue to learn from my original teachers and am inspired by many others such as: Eve Grzybowski, Donna Farhi, Celia Roberts, Pema Chodron, and the late B.K.S Iyengar. In 2022 I completed my studies in Yoga Therapy. With over 750 hours of specific training, the course was guided by the work of Leigh Blashki and teachers Sal Flynn, Annette Loudon, and Louise Godfrey.

I enjoy seeing my clients, people with a range of physical, emotional, and mental health concerns, benefit from a connecting with themselves through yoga. I look forward to meeting you one day too.
